    Aug 02, 2018· I have never machined Tantalum or Rhenium, but I did a turning job in TZM 364 which is a sintered alloy containing 99.4% molybdenum alloyed with Titanium and Zirconium. That shit was nasty. It did chip just like cast iron and made the same kind of noise you get when turning cast iron, but nastier - grinding, rumbling.
